We have experienced Level 1 and Level 2 Allied Health Assistants as part of our team.
We have experienced Level 1 and Level 2 Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) as part of our team. Where appropriate, and to best support the achievement of your goals, our AHAs may assist with aspects of the implementation of the Occupational Therapy Treatment Plan under the guidance of the treating Occupational Therapist.
The rates associated with receiving support from an AHA are less than the cost of receiving services directly from your OT. Your OT will work closely with you to set your goals and will engage an AHA to assist you if it is deemed appropriate. This can be an effective strategy to help maximise the use of your NDIS funds.
Some examples of how our AHA assist within the OT department are:
-
Face to face or teletherapy sessions to assist with the implementation of an upper limb exercise program
-
Capacity building sessions to learn to prepare a meal at home or learn how to use a power wheelchair safely in the community
-
Development of visual resources to help with daily routines or personal care tasks
-
Set up of delivered assistive technology or aids and equipment to ensure safety and independence
-
Administrative support such as scheduling appointments and maintaining NDIS documentation (service agreements, treatments plans etc).
